School/college level awareness program on Kidney Trafficking

To aware/orient students on the importance of kidney in human body and also to disseminate the research findings on kidney trafficking, an half day program was organized in schools/colleges in each 3 districts- Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk and Kathmandu. In the program importance of kidney in a person's body especially the awareness on kidney trafficking and other aspects related to kidney such as on what circumstances, who can donate kidney and to whom was disseminated in the program. The findings of the research on kidney trafficking was shared and current situation of kidney trafficking in Nepal and laws related to organ transplant was also discussed. More than 400 school/college students were made aware on kidney trafficking in the 3 districts.
